Small Ohio Town Overwhelmed By Influx Of Haitian Immigrants Under Biden-Harris Policies

The town of Springfield, Ohio, with a population of just 56,000, is struggling to cope with an influx of illegal immigrants, particularly from Haiti. Since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office, thousands of Haitian immigrants have arrived in the area, drastically changing the town’s landscape.

Springfield officials estimate that between 4,000 and 7,000 Haitians have resettled in the community in recent years. Many of these immigrants are on Temporary Protected Status, but the rapid increase in population has overwhelmed local resources. Residents, frustrated by the situation, have expressed concerns during City Commission meetings about rising crime and other issues related to the influx of newcomers.

One Springfield resident recently told the town’s mayor that she is harassed daily by Haitian immigrants squatting on her lawn. “I can’t take it anymore,” she said, highlighting the growing frustration among locals. Since the Biden-Harris administration took office, Springfield’s population has surged by 33%, a stark contrast to the 1.7% population decline between 2010 and 2020.

Many residents have begun describing Springfield as a “sanctuary city,” blaming local officials for allowing the surge of illegal immigrants into the town. The situation has also contributed to skyrocketing housing prices, making it difficult for long-time residents to find affordable homes.

As the small Ohio town grapples with this rapid population growth and the Biden-Harris administration’s immigration policies, locals continue to voice concerns about the strain on their community.
